stormy weather = artistic nights

I just visited New Orleans and wanted to stay at a hotel that offered the very best in artistic expression.

I was lucky enough to discover the Le Meridien New Orleans - which recently underwent a 29 million renovation - formerly known as the W Hotel.

Now it is truly a work of art! It has world-class features that unlocks the most creative and curious travel minds. Including mine :)

This hotel has everything you need for a luxurious stay in the deep South!

There is even a jazz murial on the patio!

It's perfectly located on Poydras Street - right in the heart of all the NOLA excitement.

The restaurant Longitude 90 serves up the most scrumptious buffet breakfast in town too!

From the momebt you walk in the Le Meridien doors the entire surrounds are chic with an artistic fkare throughout.

The bedrooms are super spacious too! Plenty of room to take that quick hotel mirror selfie too :)

Upon arrival there is an amazing art installation projected onto the entrance of the hotel - it's from a local artist and is so clever!

Le Meridien is a Paris born hotel company and the hotel certainly has a french flavor.

They also created what is called the LM100 artist community - where each hotel showcases a local artists artwork upon arrival.

With all this jazz, stormy weather and artistic inspiration I had no choice but to listen to some Billie Holiday classics

Also it's the small details that Le Meridien really does well too including the details on the door passes - finally got moi keys to the Le Meridien kingdom!

I was so excited to explore NOLA and all it's creative expressions..... but first lemme take a another selfie lol - what is it about hotel lighting that is SO much better than the lighting at

the hotel furnishings and decorations are just so chic! It may have been storming outside during my NOLA stay - but staying inside with these gorgeous surrounds made being indoors quite the adventure!

NOLA is so beautiful after it rains too - here is a glimpse from my hotel window when the rain settled and the sun started shining through

During the stormy New Orleans storms I had some time to play with snap chat and eat chocolate cake - not a bad combination in stormy conditions :)

Also this hotel has a fantastic program called UNLOCK ART - this is where guest receive complimentary admission to local art museums and galleries - in New Orleans it is the New Orleans Museum of Art and Ogden Museum of Southern Art.

Such a clever idea and one that incentivizes you to explore the city and all it's artistic offerings!
