The Carlyle
When in DC there are plenty of hotels to pick and choose from but I no doubt found a real gem with The Carlyle.
Situated in the Dupont Circle this hotel is ideal for a girls weekend trip away - close to all the boutique shopping attractions - Did you know DC has a vibrant thrift shopping district literally a few blocks from this swank hotel? I was blown away by this fact - I'd never have thought DC would have thrift shopping let alone some of the BEST thrift shops I've ever been to!
Staying steps away from Dupont Circle is the ideal way to spend your time in DC.
Here is a glimpse into my stay at The Carlyle.
Upon arrival the hotel staff were super friendly and always ready to share a joke
This guy was the best bell boy you could ask for - not only did he deliver our bags muy rapido he also gave us an amazing tour of our new suite!

I don't care what you say - I am no doubt a self-proclaimed digital junkie but there is still nothing quite like an old fashioned hand written note that makes you feel welcomed - no attention to detail went unseen by these folks at The Carlyle
The day started off checking out in the spacious bathroom and making sure the lighting was selfie proof ready :)
Yup the lighting was purfect for that pre-date selfie check!
I was now ready to explore this hotel - blue hair and all
Getting ready in hotel rooms is always fun with this one :)
To start the night off just right we dined at their in-house restaurant - The Riggsby. The head chef is Michael Schlow - one of the nation's most influential chefs around and has won accolades from Esquire, Conde Nast Traveler and was named "Best Chef in the Northeast" by the James Beard Foundation
This hotel had the most comprehensive and swanky bar!
I felt like I walked into the set of the Great Gatsby from the 1920's
dinner was so scrumptious and extremely filling - check this out - I ordered the roasted chicken with broccoli rabe, roasted potatoes & mustard - ok ok I was hungry!
Chef had to bag up some of my meal as it was SO big - which was great cos I got to eat it the next day too!!

This hotel has the most vibrant artwork collection too - it almost matched my hair color!

Another thing this hotel does exceptionally well is they can deliver all those essentials you often forget when traveling - like toothpaste - razors - hair straightners - you name it they will do it and free of charge!
The next day we woke to find these glorious pancakes awaiting our consumption :)

I am also attending the Space Prom whilst in DC - that's right - better known as the Goddard Memorial Dinner for the National Space Club and foundation - I was a guest of the Commercial SpaceFlight Federation and found this intergalactica sparkly number just perfect for the space age occasion! The good thing about The Carlyle is although they have dollar bills on the walls - this place won't break the bank - it's moderately priced and really offers personalised attention to detail that will make you feel like never leaving DC!!
